Tailored Support
We work with NGOs, grassroots charities, funders, universities, local authorities, schools and ethical businesses across the UK to strengthen ongoing democratic engagement, campaigns and climate and nature goals.

Counterlobbying: a new approach to democratic engagement
We know that politicians are constantly hearing from corporate lobbyists on the issues we care about, and that this is slowing down progress on climate and nature. That is why we have developed a training session dedicated to building people power by:
Understanding the problem of corporate lobbying – and the threat it poses.
What we can learn from corporate lobbyists.
Tips for being more effective than the corporate lobbyists.
How we can stand up for the issues we believe in.
Why Choose us?
In an increasingly complex and unpredictable political landscape, we help people and organisations navigate politics with confidence. Our approach combines practical advocacy skills, relationship-building and political insight to help communities engage effectively with decision-makers and drive meaningful change on climate and nature.
We recognise that everyone has a different experience of democracy and politics, and we work across all levels of engagement - from those who have never voted, to experienced campaigners and advocates.
All of our support and training is designed appropriately and specifically for the experience, understanding and accessibility needs of the target audience.
We are apolitical and not driven by our own policy goals. Our goals are to advance those of the partners and communities that we support. Everyone's experience and voice is different, and everyone needs their own way to tell their story.
All of our support packages are therefore tailored to the specific political and social context of the constituencies, policy areas and community groups you're working in.
Our unique approach to advocacy has been tested and refined over 10+ years, supporting everyone from grassroots community campaigns to international movements. We work both online and in-person across the UK, with experts based throughout the country. Our team brings together experience from community organising, politics, climate policy, youth work, international development, research and communications.
"Hope for the Future are one of the leading (if not the leading) UK organisations...
...working to equip people and communities across the UK to effectively communicate about the climate and nature crisis with politicians. Their breadth of expertise and accessible trainings, reflected by their whole staff team, has been a huge support to MP engagement efforts on the Warm this Winter campaign, such that I have often recommend them to colleagues and partners within the environment sector who are looking to maximise impact with politicians, particularly through local organising."
“We were a pretty experienced group of campaigners but we still all learnt a great deal from the session.”
Laura and Fergus very clearly explained the most effective ways of communicating with decision makers. There is a lot of psychology and hard science behind what we were being taught but it was explained in a very clear and appropriate way. Thanks!
Thanks so much for putting the event together. I thought it was really brilliant...
...I wanted to mention that I really liked how you made it so relevant to our specific campaign, with examples of things we could say that relate very specifically to our work. I liked that we had a chance to share what we might use as our ‘hook’ with the other attendees.
On behalf of the trustees of Wirral Environmental Network, I am writing to formally thank you for your support with the organisation of the Wirral Environmental Debate on 24th June.
...Your action has been fantastic from the very beginning. We hadn’t appreciated how much work it would be for you and how time consuming too. Everything was done so efficiently with your planning system, despite the rushed date. We were confident that you would reply and deal with any queries promptly, even when it was me not thinking things through, or acting before asking.
