Inspiring and equipping 10,000+ people
For 10 years, we've inspired, equipped, and supported over 10,000 people to drive the local and national change that they want to see. We help people understand how politics works, build confidence, and take meaningful action, from contacting their MP or Councillor to leading local and national campaigns and influencing policy. This approach works.
Are from communities most impacted by climate change and adaptation and mitigation measures
Have never previously taken action beyond voting.
Feel more equipped and motivated to take political action as a result of our support.
"For the first time I feel like I have the power to fight for what I believe in."
Accelerating Campaigns
We have no policy goals of our own, so that we can dedicate our resources to supporting the sector. We’re proud to work with such committed and powerful campaign groups, driving positive changes for climate, nature and communities.
Since 2025, Hope for the Future has been working with Uplift on their key campaign, Stop Rosebank, strengthening efforts to stop the development of the Rosebank oilfield in the North Sea.
In 2025, Hope for the Future helped strengthen UK Divest’s long-term political engagement strategy, supporting the campaign to build more coordinated and effective parliamentary pressure for fossil fuel divestment ahead of the 2026 Pensions Reform Bill, which passed in April and introduced climate risk management fossil fuel investments, a key step towards Divest UK's goals.
On 9 July 2025, over 5,000 people and 200 MPs gathered at Westminster for The Climate Coalition’s Act Now, Change Forever Mass Lobby, one of the largest coordinated democratic engagement efforts on climate and nature in recent years. We supported people and organisations in the lead-up to, during and after the event to drive lasting impact.
“We were a pretty experienced group of campaigners but we still all learnt a great deal from the session.”
Laura and Fergus very clearly explained the most effective ways of communicating with decision makers. There is a lot of psychology and hard science behind what we were being taught but it was explained in a very clear and appropriate way. Thanks!
“Hope for the Future's support really shaped the way we communicated with our supporters about engaging their MPs...
...so even for those who didn't attend the training, I believe it will have given them a greater understanding of what to expect from their MPs, and the tools to reach out and talk about the energy crisis in a constructive way.”
"Just a quick note of gratitude for your truly amazing session - it was so informative and engaging...
...and I truly appreciated how relevant you make it to not only students and business, but also UN Principles for Responsible Management Education."
"Hope for the Future's workshop gave me fire in my belly, and a new lease of life in my hope for the electoral system."
Working in Partnership
We work with communities often underrepresented in democracy, but most likely to be impacted by climate change and adaptation and mitigation measures. Our work is delivered through an extensive national partnership network, spanning grassroots groups to national organisations to advance equity and justice by ensuring that communities most impacted by the climate crisis and democratic exclusion can shape the decisions that affect their lives.
A Future for All is a five-year project aiming to make climate policies more inclusive, ensuring they reflect the needs of those most impacted by climate-related issues, by providing families from low-income backgrounds, and those with disabled children, with accessible routes into political advocacy. It is brought to life by Hope for the Future in partnership with Rowan Environmental Arts (REA), Contact, Parents for Future, and the London School of Economics (LSE).
We are working in partnership with Climate Cymru to support Welsh constituents to drive values-led climate action in the lead up to and following the Senedd elections through supporting hustings events and equipping organisations and people with advocacy insights and strategies.
Deliberative democracy is a powerful way of bringing new voices into decision-making. We are working across the country to test and develop a suite of resources and support to strengthen the political and policy impact of these projects. Our partners include Shared Future, Surrey Climate Commission, the University of Manchester and the Energy Demand Research Centre.
Supporting the next generation of voters
Young people represent the future of our country. We are committed to helping them engage positively in democracy, make informed choices and be changemakers in the lead up to and following the next general election.
A healthy planet depends on a healthy democracy, and a healthy democracy depends on a healthy planet.
Now, more than ever, communities must be equipped and supported to protect the future of our people and planet. We build and deploy evidence-based approaches to political influencing.
With increasing threats to our environment and our democracy, we are evolving our training and campaign support to meet the needs of different communities and political actors, strengthening partnerships and cross-sector collaboration and mobilising people at key political moments.
